Sweet and Smoky BBQ Sauce

This house BBQ sauce gives off a savory smoky flavor with a bit of sweet and some optional heat.

Ingredients
  

  • 30 oz Tomato Sauce (2 Cans)
  • ¾ cup Brown Sugar
  • ¼ cup Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 2 tsp Ground Yellow Mustard
  • tsp Smoked Paprika
  • tsp Ancho Chile Powder
  • 2 tsp Onion Powder
  • 2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • 2 tsp Corse ground black pepper
  • ½ tsp Chipotle Powder (optional for heat)
  • ½ tsp Liquid Smoke

Instructions
 

  • In a pot with the stove set to medium mix the tomato sauce, sugar, and apple cider vinegar, let simmer for ~10 minutes until the sugar is completely dissolved. Taste for sweetness and vinegar tang, add a tablespoon more of either to taste.
  • Add the rest of the spices and let simmer covered for ~20 minutes
  • Using a funnel pout into a resealable bottle and use immediately or refrigerate.
