Bourbon Bloody Mary

Bourbon Bloody Mary

Exactly everything you'd want in a liquid breakfast. Smokey, tangy, sweet and savory, my favorite twist on a great classic.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Maple Whiskey or Bourbon
  • 4 oz Tomato Juice
  • 2-3 dashes Tabasco sauce (optional)
  • 1 tbsp BBQ Dry Rub (plus extra for rimming the glass)
  • 1 Lime wedge (for rimming the glass)
  • Bacon, celery, and pickled vegetables for garnish

Instructions

  • Start by wetting the rim of your glass with a lime wedge or a little water. Then, dip the rim into a plate of BBQ dry rub, making sure the glass is evenly coated.
    1 tbsp BBQ Dry Rub
  • Place a few large ice cubes in the glass. Large cubes are ideal because they melt more slowly, preventing your drink from getting watered down too quickly.
  • Pour in the bourbon and tomato juice, then add 1 tablespoon of BBQ dry rub. If you like a little heat, add a few dashes of Tabasco sauce. Stir everything well until the BBQ rub is fully incorporated and the drink is nice and chilled.
