If you're craving a tropical escape in a glass, the Painkiller is your ticket to the islands. Originally created in the British Virgin Islands in the 1970s, this creamy, citrusy cocktail delivers all the beachy vibes with none of the jet lag.

Equipment

  • 1 Drink Shaker

Ingredients
  

  • 2 oz dark rum (traditionally Pusser's)
  • 4 oz pineapple juice
  • 1 oz orange juice
  • 1 oz cream of coconut
  • Fresh grated nutmeg, for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Combine all ingredients (except nutmeg) in a shaker with ice. Shake vigorously until chilled.
  • Strain into a tiki mug or highball glass, preferably filled with nugget or crushed ice.
  • Grate fresh nutmeg over the top for that classic finish.
