This vibrant Rum Punch is a sunshine-in-a-glass kind of drink—sweet, citrusy, and a little bit dangerous in the best way. It’s perfect for pool parties, backyard BBQs, or any occasion where you want to kick back and sip something that feels like vacation.

Making Rum Punch
This drink plays beautifully with the contrast of rich dark rum and the brightness of the juices. Use a quality dark rum for depth and a light rum with a clean profile so it doesn’t get lost.
Want to batch it for a crowd? Multiply the recipe and mix it in a pitcher—just wait to add ice until serving so it doesn’t dilute too quickly.
Invest in Ice
Nugget ice—also known as “Sonic” ice—is the gold standard of cocktail ice, especially for tropical drinks like rum punch. Its soft, chewable texture and high surface area mean it chills your drink quickly without watering it down too fast.
If you’re a frequent home entertainer or just serious about your cocktails, investing in a countertop nugget ice maker might be one of the best upgrades you’ll ever make to your bar setup. Once you’ve served a drink over nugget ice, you won’t want to go back. I have a GE Opal.
